What is a doula?

A doula is a trained professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support to expectant parents before, during, and after childbirth.

What services do you offer as a doula?

As a doula, I offer a range of services including prenatal education, birth preparation, continuous labor support, assistance with birth preferences, postpartum recovery care, and breastfeeding support.

How would having a doula benefit me during my birth?

Having a doula by your side during childbirth can provide numerous benefits including reduced stress and anxiety, increased feelings of empowerment and confidence, improved communication with medical providers, decreased likelihood of medical interventions, and enhanced overall birth satisfaction.

Do you attend all types of births?

Yes, I support all types of births including hospital births, home births, birthing center births, medicated births, unmedicated births, cesarean births, and VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) births.

When should I hire a doula?

It’s never too early or too late to hire a doula. Ideally, hiring a doula early in your pregnancy is best to benefit from continuous support throughout your journey. However, even if you’re further along in your pregnancy, it’s not too late to hire a doula to support you during childbirth and the postpartum period.

Will my birth partner still be included and involved?

 A doula doesn’t replace the role of your birth partner. Instead, a doula complements and enhances the support provided by your support person. I work collaboratively with this person to ensure you both feel supported, heard, and informed throughout the childbirth process.

How do I know if you’re the right doula for me?

Choosing the right doula is a personal decision. I encourage you to schedule a complimentary consultation to discuss your needs, preferences, and any questions or concerns you may have. This will help us determine if we’re a good fit and if my services align with your expectations.

What are your fees and payment options?

My fees vary based on the services requested and the level of support desired. I offer flexible payment options and am happy to discuss payment plans or sliding scale fees for those in need. See my “Packages” page for more information.

  Do you provide postpartum support?

Yes, I offer postpartum support to help ease the transition into parenthood. This may include assistance with newborn care, breastfeeding support, sibling & pet introduction, emotional support, and referrals to community resources as requested.
